The Process
How Socket and Button Pours Are Performed
The process begins by inserting the wire rope through the socket or button fitting. Our experienced team then carefully unlays the strands and individual wires, “brooming” the end to maximize surface area for superior bonding.
Next, the broomed wires are thoroughly cleaned to remove grease and contaminants. The socket or button is securely positioned over the prepared broom, creating a strong mechanical fit before the pour.
Finally, we pour either molten zinc or high-performance synthetic resin such as Wirelock into the fitting. Once properly cured or cooled, the termination provides a permanent connection achieving full strength of the wire rope.
